You may want to print these instructions up first. Note: Your website must be about Golden Retrievers. (1). Bring up the Directory page on your browser. (2). Click on your Country Category link. For example, click on "Canada". (3). The screen for "Canada" will now appear. Click on your "Province". For example, "Alberta". (4). The screen for "Alberta" will now appear. Now click on the category that your site applies to. For example, click on "Breeders". (5). The "Breeders" screen will now appear. Click on the "Add Account" link that appears towards the top of the screen. (6). The "Add a Site" screen will now appear. Title: Fill in the title of your website; for example, "ABC Breeders, Inc". URL: Fill in the URL of your website; for example, http://www.yoursite.com Category: This is the category for your site; it should be filled in for you already. If not, please select the correct category for your site. If you are unable to find the correct category, email us with a request. Description:Fill in the Description of your website; for example, "We are breeders of champion golden retrievers. All our dogs come with health certificates, a guarantee, and basic instructions for raising and caring for your dog. Come visit our dogs on our website." Contact Name: Fill in the "Contact Name" with your first and last name. Contact Email: Fill in your correct email address. Note: Please make sure that you give us your correct email address, or we will not be able to confirm and accept your listing. We DO NOT sell or share your email address with anyone, ever. We only use it to communicate with you regarding your listing. Click on the "Add Resource" button. (7). The system should now display the "Resource Added" screen. (8). We will notify you by email after we have validated and approved your listing. Please Note: If you are unable to find a category for your site, please email us with your website address, your location (country/state), and a description of your site. We will then determine if a new category needs to be added. We will notify you by email when you can post your listing. Your "Directory" listing does NOT require you to put a link on your website for Top Golden Retriever Sites. If you wish to put a link, it would be much appreciated. All you need to do is send us an email that contains the title and URL of your website, as it appears on the directory. We will confirm back with you via email when your listing has been deleted. How do I modify (change) my Directory listing? (1). Bring up the Directory page on your browser. (2). Click on the "Edit Account" link, located towards the top of the screen. (3). The "Modify a Site" screen will now appear. (4). Fill in all the requested information, then click on the "Modify Resource" button. (5). The system will now display the "Resource Modified" screen. We will confirm back with you via email when we have validated your changes. How do I use the Directory? Please Note: If you are unable to find the site you are looking for in our directory, it does NOT necessarily indicate that the site does not exist; it just means that it is currently not registered in our directory. (1). Bring up the Directory page on your browser. The Golden Retriever Directory is configured by Country, State/Province, and then the individual website "types" within each country. (2). You may click on the desired categories to locate a particular website. For example, If I were looking for a breeder in the United States, New Jersey, you would click on the "USA" link, then click on the "New Jersey" link, then click on the "Breeders" link. All the breeder sites would then be listed under that category. (3). You may optionally use the "Search" section that appears at the bottom of each Directory page. Simply enter your search keyword and click on the "Search!" button. (4). To visit the sites under that category, just click on the sites "title" link. Note: All the sites will open in a separate browser window. Specific type of site listing: Note: If you wish to display a specific type of site (without using the country links), please "click" the type of site desired, then click the "Go Fetch!" button. Miscellaneous Database Searches: You can search for various keywords within the database by using the Search box that appears at the bottom of the Directory screen. Just enter your search term and click on the "Search!" button. What is that number in parentheses that appears to the immediate right of a category? This number represents the current number of items that are in that category. If the number is zero (0), it means that this category is currently empty. Do I need to put a "link back" on my site for the directory? NO. But if you would like to put one, it would be much appreciated.
