What is Golden Bookmarks?

Golden Bookmarks is a facility that is similar to your browsers "Favorites" or bookmarks facility; except that with Golden Bookmarks, your links reside on the internet; hence, they are available wherever there is an internet connection. Please note that your browsers bookmarks are in no way changed or effected by Golden Bookmarks. In fact, Golden Bookmarks does not even read or utilize your browsers favorites; hence, it is an independent system.
Golden Bookmarks allows you to add your own selection of Golden Retriever links and also your own personal selection of links. However, you may not add sites that contain adult materials or have links to adult sites, sites encouraging illegal activity, hate or racism, sites having threatening content or other sites we deem inappropriate, are not permitted on our system. Any violation of this rule will result in the immediate deletion of your account.
Top Golden Retriever Sites reserves the right to delete any user, at any time and for any reason. At our option, we may also discontinue this service, and without prior notice.

Who might have some use for Golden Bookmarks?

Anyone that normally uses more than one computer to access the internet. You can also use it to supplement your browser's Bookmarks facility, or if you are going to be away from your home/office computer for a while, and will be using some other computer.

How do I sign-up for an account?

From the "Golden Bookmarks" homepage, click on the "Add Account" link.
The "Bookmarks Registration" screen will now appear.
Account ID: Type in a userid of your choice.
Password: Type in desired password, twice.
E-mail: Type in YOUR CORRECT email address. Note: if you type in the wrong email address, we will be unable to approve your account.
Type in your name and country. Then click on the Apply button.

After you click on the "Apply" button, the system will display the following message:

Congratulations! You set up an account with us.
Your Account Activation code sent to "Your email address"

You will now need to sign-in to your email account and get your account activation code. Get the activation code and enter it in the space provided on the "Activation Form" screen. Then click on the Activate button.

After you click on the "Activate" button, the system will display the Main Menu screen, and the following message will be displayed:
Your account activated!
Your subscription is active


Click on the link that says: Go to"Bookmarks Page".

Your browser will now ask you to sign-in to your Bookmarks account with your userid and password.
For better security, we suggest that you do "NOT" click on the little box that says: "Save this password in your password list"

Your "Golden Bookmarks" screen will now appear. You may now add your own folders and links.
Note: When you display your Golden Bookmarks screen for the first time, your screen will contain pre-defined, empty folders for your Golden Retriever links. At your option, you may use or delete these folders; it's up to you. You can also create your own folders for your Golden Retriever and Personal links.

How do I create a Folder for my links?

Bring up your Golden Bookmarks page on your browser. Go down to the "Folders" column on the left side of the screen. Click on the "edit" link, that appears to the immediate right of the word "Folders". Click on the "Add new folder" link, located towards the bottom of the screen.
Type in your desired folder name. Select a category from the drop-down menu. Click on the "Submit Query" button. Note: if you do not see a category that you feel matches your folder, you may "suggest" a category to us, click on the "Contact Us?" link, to send us an email request.

How do I add a link to my Folder?

Click on the desired folder-link where you want the link to go. (Note: the folder name will appear in the "Links -" line.
Click on the "edit" link that appears to the extreme right of the screen (on the "Links-" line).
Click on the "Add new link" link, that appears towards the bottom of the screen.
Now enter all your link information, then click on the "Submit Query" button.

How do I change the link information for an existing link?

Click on the desired folder where the link to be changed resides.
Click on the "edit" link, that appears to the extreme right of the screen.
A list of the links that are contained in this folder is now displayed.
Choose the link to be changed and use the "edit" link that appears to the right of the link title.
Make the necessary changes to the link information, then click on the "Submit Query" button.

How do I delete an existing link?

Click on the desired folder where the link to be deleted resides.
Click on the "edit" link that appears to the extreme right of the screen (on the "Links-" line).
A list of the links that are contained in this folder is now displayed.
Choose the link to be deleted by clicking on the "delete" link that appears to the right of the link title.
You will now get a confirmation message for the link to be deleted. Click on the "Yes" link to delete the link.

How do I change an existing folder?

Bring up your Golden Bookmarks page on your browser. Go down to the "Folders" column on the left side of the screen. Click on the "edit" link, that appears to the immediate right of the word "Folders".
A list of your current Folders is now displayed. Click on the "Edit" link, that appears to the immediate right of the Folder to be changed.
The "Edit Folder" screen will now appear. Please make whatever changes need to be made, then click on the "Submit Query" button.

How do I delete a Folder?

Warning: When you DELETE a Folder, all links that are currently in that folder will also be deleted!

Bring up your Golden Bookmarks page on your browser. Go down to the "Folders" column on the left side of the screen. Click on the "edit" link, that appears to the immediate right of the word "Folders".
A list of your current Folders is now displayed. Click on the "Delete" link, that appears to the immediate right of the Folder to be deleted.
The following confirmation message will now display: Deleting folder "Folder Name". Are you sure?: Yes, No

Click on "Yes" to DELETE the Folder.

How do I make my links page Public?

Warning: When you make your links page Public, it will be visible by anyone who knows the URL (website address of the page). However, only you can update your Golden Bookmarks page.

Bring up your Golden Bookmarks page on your browser. Go down to the left side of the screen, where it say's "Public mode Off on".
To make your Golden Bookmarks page public, click on the "ON" link.
Note: even though you have just made your bookmarks public, it still can only be viewed by those people who know that actual URL of the page. That being said, you will now see a message towards the bottom of your links page, that say's: "URL of this page is (website address)." This is the URL of your public Golden Bookmarks page. You can put it up on a website or give it to those people that you would like to give read access to. Note: use your mouse to highlight the URL. Then do a copy & paste of the URL into the desired location; for example, webpage or your browser's address box.

To make your Golden Bookmarks page private, simply click on the "Off" link.
Note: if someone try's to read your public bookmarks page after you have made it private, they will Not get your Golden Bookmarks screen. Instead, they will get the system default screen, that contains nothing but empty folders.

How do I Logoff from my Bookmarks page?

To Logoff, all you need to do is close the browser window that you were using for your Golden Bookmarks.

How do I Edit my account profile information?

Send us an email that contains the following information:
Your Bookmarks userid, along with the information to be changed. Send Email to: webmaster@topgoldenretrievers.zzn.com

How do I Close my Bookmarks account?

Send us an email that contains your Bookmarks userid, and indicate that you want to Close your Bookmarks account.
